Kara is a clinical psychologist who aims to develop a warm, friendly, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients, to address their own personal goals, and navigate any stuck points that may be limiting their ability to live the most fulfilling life possible. Kara works with both adolescents and adults.
Kara has worked across many different sectors, including law and child protection, before following her passion for psychology and retraining. Kara first studied at Monash University in Victoria and achieved a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours). She then obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from The University of Sydney, followed by a Master of Clinical Psychology at Western Sydney University.
Kara is an AHPRA Registered Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist (registration number: PSY0002105463), and is a member of both the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
Kara has experience working within a range of settings including private practice, a school psychology department, and outpatient pain management centre. As part of this experience, Kara has assisted children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of challenges including depression, anxiety, self harm, emotional regulation, grief and loss, adjustment issues, chronic pain management, perfectionism, academic and workplace stress, and the management of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to name a few. Kara provides evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. She is skilled at matching the most appropriate therapies to the individual needs of her clients.
