Geaty completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology at Macquarie University. She completed further postgraduate training at the University of Wollongong, gaining a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology (with Distinction). Geaty has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Bereavement Counselling from the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement. Her registration number with the national governing body (AHPRA) is PSY0001183386.
Geaty has been a registered psychologist since 2005. She has experience in a range of settings, including community mental health, pain management, and rehabilitation psychology. She has over 8 years’ experience working with depression, adjustment issues, interpersonal difficulties, personality disturbances, and anger management. The evidence-based therapies Geaty utilises include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is skilled at matching the most appropriate type of therapy to her client’s particular difficulty, which helps to maximise the effectiveness of her treatment.
