Fees and Rebates
Fees and Rebates
Depending on which psychologist you see, our consultation fee is $200 – $250 per session. Each session is 55 minutes in duration. Fees are payable at your consultation either by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex).
There is a cancellation fee of half the session fee when you cancel a session with less than 48 hours’ notice. If you give less than 24 hours’ notice (except in the case of unforeseen emergencies), or fail to arrive for the appointment, the full session fee is charged. These cancellation fees are not claimable from Medicare or private health insurance.
If you have any questions, please contact us for more information.
Medicare Rebates and Private Health Insurance
Clinical psychology services are Medicare-claimable for those diagnosed with a mental illness like depression or anxiety by a GP. You can claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions per year with a psychologist, and the gap payment contributes to the Medicare Safety Net, triggering an additional 80% rebate once reached.
To claim any Medicare rebate, you need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan before your first session. Please discuss this with your GP, who may require a long consultation for proper assessment.
We offer Medicare Online Claiming, allowing immediate rebate claims after session payment. The full session fee is necessary before claiming, and Medicare deposits the funds into your bank account.
If ineligible for Medicare rebates (e.g., for relationship counseling without a diagnosed condition), your private health fund might provide some rebate. Contact your health fund to inquire about coverage, session limits, and dollar limits. Unfortunately, we can’t submit these claims for you due to a lack of HICAPS facilities.
